So The Perfect Time Is When Exactly?

Happy New Year, beautiful people! We thank God we made it to 2019! Like most years in my adulthood, 2018 literally flew by. One day it was January 1st, the next day it was Christmas and the rest was a blur, yet when I think back on it so much actually happened last year. I…

Yellow & Green Collection Piece #2: McCall’s 7129 Wrap Skirt

Hey friends! Today I have the pleasure of sharing with you the  second piece of my collection. It's this McCall's 7129 wrap skirt in view C that I made with this lovely floral fabric I bought in Thailand to match my bell sleeved top in my last post. It was my first time making a…

Yellow & Green Collection Piece #1: Simplicity 0891 Top

Hey everyone! This week flew by so quick but I'm glad that I can at least snag a moment to gush about this super cute top I made for my Yellow & Green collection. My absolute first piece! Although I've taken my sweet time to share it on the blog, I've worn this shirt out…

What Indecision Looks Like In A Garment | The Vintage Plaid Top With Waist Straps

Hey Loves! It has seriously been awhile but the creativity is still happening over at Create & Pray. I took a break from the sewing machine about a month and some change into 2018 (outside of giving my first sewing lessons ever to some good friends of mine) but got my creative juices back in…

A New Perspective | The Meshed Floral Peek-A-Boo Dress

With the New Year just a few days away, I had a goal to squeeze in just one more sewing project to give me that added boost to take over the sewing game in 2018. After scouring through my saved pins on Pinterest I came across this gorgeous dress that was unique, classy and fun.…

A Nigerian Event In Three Days = His & Her Emergency Outfits

I would like to preface this post by saying my sewing posts will be a little different going forward. I typically explain how I make my garments but I want to make things simpler and only discuss the inspiration behind what I sew. I honestly find more creative joy when sharing with you how the…

The Professional Glow Up: Don’t Freak Out, It’s Only Your First Week

Walking into work during my first week was amazingly unreal. I was shocked at how quickly the time passed from accepting my offer to actually starting, yet excited for all that I was about to learn. I work in tech so my work environment is very laid back with really smart people that are always…

Cheers To Sewing Fails And Husbands Who Wear Them Anyway

So after making my yellow off the shoulder top and having much success, I admit to getting a bit big headed to the point where I oversimplified other sewing projects I have yet to try. I appreciate the confidence that the project gave me but it was too much and I needed some humbling and…

It’s Sew Me!: The Yellow Off The Shoulder Top

Earlier this week, I was excited to properly break in my machine and wanted to create this off the shoulder top with my yellow cotton material I shared in my previous post. This off the shoulder trend is something I have been adoring this summer season and in need of in my closet.  Plus, I felt I needed more summer tops that weren't too dressy, but also not a plain t-shirt. This top is cute, fun, and produces flattering suntan lines.
